Study to Assess the Prevalence of Mobile Phone Addiction Among Adolescents with Selected Demographic Variables

Introduction: Adolescence is a time of moving from immaturity childhood to maturity adulthood.Technologies especially the mobile phone has considerably new epidemic in century. It become anessential part modern community and necessities people’s lifestyle over past decade andgained unparallel fame because it facilitates communication between individual shortening distance, agood investment time.Method: was Descriptivestudy conducted amongst 100 consented students age 13-18yr Gurugramschools. Data collected through self – structured questionnaire assess prevalence mobilephone addiction among adolescents.Result: Prevalence smartphone addictions shows majority 65% adolescent are at high developsmartphone addiction, 26% mild level remaining 9% severe addiction.The chi square association with selecteddemographic variables (0.003) found be statistically significant standard only, whereas showedknow no other demographic variablesConclusion: Study concludes that areat risk develop atsevere addiction.
